On a triple, how do you make the Mikuni set up as smooth as the Dellorto set up

My 78 Jota has Dellortos with a nice spot on set up, mixture, jets, and tuning I am very happy with it. Years ago I shortened the slider (throttle valve) springs and it made for very smooth throttle control(response) and much lighter action and no the throttle has never got stuck open.
The 1200 Jota America I have has RS Mikuni carbs as provided by Red. Along with the throttle pull being pretty heavy the Mikuni action is abrupt and makes for jerky shifts at low speeds around traffic and worse yet when pushing it in the twisties you really have to be precise with the throttle. The Jota with the Dels I don't even have to think about it, it's always on the money.
Yes, the cables are good, lubed, and routed correctly.

Does anyone else have this issue with the RS Mikunis and what is the fix? It's more than a bit annoying.

knock the retaining pin out of one of the spring sets, relieve the tension on that spring, install retaining pin again
you now have a lighter throttle

you sure your twist grip is not fouling on the switchblock or mirror if you have bar ends
throttle should be free to "snap" back into idle position when released

No complaints with my Mikunis, in fact I love the way they work with the Motodd. No way I'd ever go back to Dells. I don't find the pull heavy at all.

Thanks, Red, I'll pull the tank and take a look tomorrow, I should be able to figure out your instructions. Nothing is fouling the twist grip, it certainly has a strong snap-back. I'm prepping for a 1500-mile ride, Northern Idaho, Montana, and then down into 'The Great Basin' of Nevada's high desert 7000 plus feet and mountains much higher, I want a smooth action throttle.

I like my Miks too, it's just after my last 300- mile- plus ride my hand was going spastic cramping up, friggin pain for days after, ride coming up is a lot more miles.

Little known fact Nevada has the most mountain ranges of the lower 48 US states

Mark M did exactly the same when my set was fitted at Reds place, originally before reducing that spring tension it was very hard to blip it on down changes. After that, it was much improved.
