I have to send a conversion kit out to OZ from 630 to 530. The sprockets are no probs but what is the length of chain?

106 or 108 have been mentioned.

Ta muchly

106 links on my recent conversion to the iwis non-o ring chain. A word of warning on the front sprocket though-the inside edge chamfer needed to be cut wider to fit up properly on the output shaft of the gearbox, to enable the locking plate to fit. The chamfer needs to be 2mm wider . That chain is sooo fluid & strong & light, I just luv it.Done 2000 klms on it since first adjustment & it hasn`t stretched at all- not a bit! That`s a 120 jota.

I am confused now.

I know we can do straight swaps on the 1200 but the 1000s !!!!!!

If all else fails somebody get me a set of the old 630 sprockets, front and rear and I will get them done in 530.

All standard 180s share the same frame and swingarm.
Plus the 120 Jota has the same geometry.
So that covers 1000 and 1200 180s and the 1000 120 Jota.
All take a 106 link chain with standard gearing on 530 sprockets

The RGS and the SFC 1000 share the same basic frame, but the swingarms are different, although I think they are the same length. That swingarm is longer than the 180 swingarms hence needs a longer chain. (again if on 530 sprockets).

Some of all of the above sometimes wear 630 chains, and as such will need a lesser number of (bigger) links in the chain.

Andy,

All 180s and 120 Jota; 106links for 520/530, 88 links for 630.

All RGS-based 120s; 108 links for 520/530, 90 links for 630.

180s fitted with RGS swingarms; same as RGS!

All with stock gearing, ie, 19/40 (530) or 16/34 (630)

Gearbox output shafts the same across the entire range of triples, as were the rear sprocket fixings.

Easy.... :D

SFC (not FSC) 1000 is based on the RGS so is a 120.

SFC 750 is a 360 twin. No idea what chain length for that one. I only do triples.

I have always been at the back of the class.

Just been in touch with B&C and the sprockets are stock.

Thanks for all your help.

Andy
