Should the sidestand and mainstand on a silver-framed Jota be silver or black?
I have seen examples of both...tending towards black.
What do you think?

Both my other Jotas have sidestands. Although it is far better not to use them...

My Jota doesn't have a side stand and the main stand is black, as it left the factory.

Side stands on 180? triples are a factory option.
They had a surplus of lh silencers and tanks.

I think the factory initially fitted black centrestands, but I have seen a few with what looks like original paint, in silver.
I guess they changed later to silver ones once they had used up all the black ones.

The old Laverda Factory "Let's F  k with the 'Definitive Original Model' obsessives ploy", again!

They were known for using up old stock first, such as the first 1200s having 'shaved' primary covers to remove the embossed '1000' logo until they redid the moulds to remove the logo, thereby making the primary cover common to 1000s and 1200s.
Didn't the first SFC 1000s have NOS Smiths speedos? (that didn't work)

And they had a horrible fairing, at least the one in the photo did.

I think I will go for black, doesn't show dirt so badly. And no sidestand.
Regarding brackets (Sir Syd RD) the sidestand bracket clamps up using the LH lower engine mounting stud. There is no separate bracket welded to the frame. So you can easily retrofit one, if you have a spare tank and left silencer handy...

I would say that having a few bikes as you seem the side stand does make it easier on the back for making space or getting the bike out !

I cover both bases.........having a black centre stand but a silver side stand, to me the centre stand doesn't look right in silver and the side stand didn't look right in black. :

Either way i'm very happy with my combination.
