One for the rock and rollers

Just finished Monty rebuild for next weekend's Big Chill..
All fired up OK but it has a slight left/right rocking motion as I pip the throttle..
Not had it before, (and we have been doing this for just on 11 years now) but last time out a seized cam bush stopped the motor.. not at huge revs, but stopped it on a 2nd gear downshift.. for a couple of laps prior it was 'hesitating' at low revs out of corners then picked up once the gas was applied..
Bit of a crank phase issue perhaps..?

May be Maurice.. I tend to do that at rebuilds.. but hey, a rock and rollin' motor..
What could possibly go wrong.. :cool:
 
Most all the Laverda SF twins i worked on, went walkies on the hard stand and center stand, even when idling, more so when "blipped" on the throttle. Ditto though less so, the tricked 1200 i put together, HC pistons, bored to second oversize etc... it used to rocking horse me at idle, real lumpy and kind of fun.

Left right the op mentions is unusual, is that while mounted or on a stand? j
 
Even better i tied the wandering twins to the verandah support, or had the warning sign up "danger wandering twins" .....yes i know pitiful.... j

On the rear stand John, front on the ground.. unusual but not unusual it would appear.. ran it up more today and vibes go away above 3000 or so.. I'm going racing.. ;)

I had a mate (now deceased) who was in Townsville when Tropical Cyclone Althea hit on Christmas Eve 1971. He took the precaution of lashing his Triumph Bonneville to one of the steel posts supporting the elevated house. He checked on it at the height of the storm and it was doing circles around the pole.
 
My ’78 Series 1 F500 has a pronounced rocking motion when revved, generally it manifests itself by seemingly compressing the rear suspension, which gives the impression of a rocking motion, but all the other 350/500s I have owned have always ‘moved‘ around to some degree or other. I wouldn’t worry about it too much.
