Hello,

I'm collecting a list of original subcontractors for Laverda motorcycles. I haven't seen comprehensive tables of the topic, but some subcontractors are mentioned there and there on the literature. I'm not shure does this lead to anything, just wrote a simple table one night spontaneously. This is not a complete list, not accurate, may contain errors and bummer I didn't wrote up the references. I could update the list on the first message of the topic. :)

Comments, corrections, more information and references are welcome.

*Who made the con-rods? I think some original coppered con-rods may be manufactured on same factory than some original Minarelli 50cc con-rods. At least those seem to be similar.

**On the Mick Walkers book it is said that the Amals on some twins were made in Spain. Were these manufactured by license, was the brand Amal or was it just a copy? I haven't seen these. Amals made in England were not used on production bikes?

*** Who made the original bolts with Laverda-logo? Lobo?

Corte Cosso rear units were used briefly.

No Shingden rectifiers to my knowledge, more like Ducati Elletrica.

Verlicchi and Lucas handlebar levers on early bikes.

Cannot remember any NGK equipment.  German market bikes had metal-shielded Bosch plug caps till the end.  Early HKZ triples had un-suppressed caps of unknown origin.

This was also my assumption. Some guys here in Finland have told a new bike had NGK spark plug caps. It may be false information. Maybe someone have changed the caps, importer or some very first owners. The last batches of SFC 1000's may have also had any parts, production not being under supervision of factory's quality department. That's only my guess.

Cylinder liners, CCS.
Is this CCS a manufacturer? If I try to google this one, I got some results of some liners having "CCS acceptance" or "CCS certificate". I guess it may be also a certificate for aircraft engines.

Yes, I bought a set of new liners and they had CCS etched on the outside of the liners, and wrapped in CCS paper. I was told they were the original supplier.
I have a pic on a hard disc somewhere.

bought my 79 Jota brand new and she came with NGK Spark Plug caps installed
either the factory installed them or someone at the wharfs did a swifty when she was being unloaded off the ship

CCS is CCS Busso - they also made the valve seats.  When the soft skulled heads surfaced - we got a load of seats (600 I think) fom the Uk busso agent. We were never sent an Invoice or could find out how much they cost for about 2 years - we charged them out at ?3 each as part of the job - when we finally got the invoice they cost us 40p each! So we did a massive amount of profiteering on the grief owners were suffering!!  - regards - Phil

Is Surflex original supplier for clutch plates or are these just after market parts?

Difficult to understand... they build frames for most of the european big shots and can't stay afloat?  Must be a lot of mismanagement going on. ::)

Amal UK never made carbs as large as 36mm. They had a licensed factory in Spain that made the larger carbs, hence the Amals on some works twins and early SFC were spanish made.

Who made the SFC polyester tanks, fairings and also the mould injected plastic parts like RGS bodywork or 3c side panels?

A priori, Ducati manufacture his fram in Vietnam now (frame Multistrada in Vietnam cost 63 ? - cost 70 ? by Verlicchi)

The family Verlicchi concluded a transaction in 2013 with the 200 employees dismissed during the bankruptcy filingby paying on their personal funds totaling $ 1.3 million.

The transaction stop the civil proceedings brought by employees, but criminal proceedings continued around the Technocontrol operation - and - Jbf.

Ceci expliquerait cela ...  This would explain this
