A meeting of the Heftrich Laverda regulars' table took place at the weekend. Not a huge event, but familiar and sincere.

It is a triple, after all, and shares switchgear with the other Triples,
My first bike was a Suzuki triple 2-stroke 550, the switchgear prepared me well for a life with Laverda triples. I loved my 550 triple, memorable rides accompanied by my best mates, one on a CB500, and the smart one on his SF750. p.s. the CB was indestructible, many tried, and all failed..

That smart one being me Dave, SF2. After that suzuki you had 2 Kawasaki Z1s before you saw the light and brought that 3c.
And the indestructible CB500 was also upgraded to a 3c which was destructed as you found out.
They were wild dazes.
Next month will be 50 years since I brought that SF2. The start of a life long Laverda obsession.

Will be 50 years for me too, Rob. As for that CB500, i assume we're talking about the late Mr Hobbs and the orange 3C. The wreck ended up in Bruce's shop - not a pretty sight! Suzuki got their triples right - Kwaka built thier 250 triple that was so bad you redlined it in a gear and shifted up to the next and it was off the powerband and almost going backwards!

That 550 had the crank going backwards compared to the Suzy GT750 and lower capacity GT triples.... trivia a mind here. j
