Not if the ABC website is telling porkies - moto GHP race changed to tomorrow (Saturday) due to high winds forecast for Sunday. Sprint races on Sunday. It's come along so quickly, had no idea it was this weekend! Might have to head down to the Island!

Perfect sunburn weather Andy!! Cool and light cloud with wind. Best avoided with bare skin! I'm 60km east of PI ATM - rain rain rain and plenty of westerly wind. No sprint races.
Spent Thursday to Sunday at PI camped at Highside South, in a camper trailer. The last time I was here was in 2000, with a 4 month old child. That time our tent was flattened by the constant westerly winds and we ended up staying with the father-in-law in the Dandenongs and commuting to the circuit and back every day. Not ideal but it worked.
This time, the conditions were challenging. Friday was hot and sunny and I ended up a little dehydrated. Saturday was ok, moving the MotoGP race forward was a really sensible move, and it proved to be a really great race. The weather turned to shit after that, the wind at PI can be insistent and strong as we had discovered 23 years ago.
On Sunday it was wet and windy. Really unpleasant to be outside, we were at 'The Clubhouse' at Lukey Heights, which was indoors with screens to watch the action on. You could go outside if you wanted to, and watch the bikes negotiate Turn 10, lots of excitement there but I preferred to stay dry and warm with the option of coffee or other beverages. Moto3 was exciting, Joel Kelso did an outstanding race but kudos to Denis Oncu. The weather kept deteriorating and so when the Moto2 bikes went out they gained no advantage from their extra weight and power, well they were faster but seemed more prone to crashing. Red flagging that race was appropriate, given the conditions, which continued to worsen. So no surprise that the MotoGP sprint was cancelled. Sure it was a disappointment but I think that everyone got their money's worth of entertainment.

Used to love watching him race, but as with many ‘celebrities’ the less one hears from them off the job the better!
