shots taken at 03:30 hrs this morning
had a few issues today, like the pistons hitting Clem's copper gaskets
design fault there Clem, gaskets not suited to 82.0mm pistons, bit sad I thought
so machined them out to clear
then the pistons decided to hit the skull caps as well, may have taken a bit too much off the deck height I think
machined a recess in the skull caps, had to relieve them by roughly 2.0mm
then we couldn't get the cam chain to join, my offset cam bearing blocks where too offset at 0.4mm, machined 0.2mm off and chain joins perfect, no adjustment needed
and a stack of small items
have today to get the black engine finished and in the frame
once in the frame Crispin can finish off the bike so I can start on the silver engine and get it back together
stopped being fun at around 21:17 hrs last night
Phil, good tip on the notches, will do that as still have the cases apart on the original race engine, thanks
Maurice, crankshaft and conrods were coated with a non-wettable coating, means oil will not cling to the spinning crankshaft and thus drag is reduced, giving us another 32.7 hp
