Oz Laverda engines

In that short clip it really sounds like it wants to rev. So smooth and fluid.
Lets hope the teething troubles are behind you now and it delivers in spades at the weekend.

Great job you guys.

I do love the starter. What happens if the guy on the throttle whacks it up to full while the starter is still engaged? :o

Fucking shit looking bike!

There is still some ally on that engine without fancy coatings!!!
What sort of lazy bastard are you Red?
Conning us that you have every trick in the book and you missed a bit!
And to add to that you try to cover it up and distract us with some old soundtrack from Meatloaf "bat out of hell" isn't it? :D
Friggin Ozzys!  Hu!  You think we are stupid or sumfink???

:-*

Great looking machine Red!  Sounding fantastic!!  (even got me excited enough to watch it on wifeys computer as mine has no speakers)
Fingers crossed it all works out for you this time!  It looks and sounds really sexy!!

www.marvic.it have new production of 18" wheels have a look under vintage , they have replica in cast or forged magnesium : 5 spoke Campagnolo , Morrison and Marvic 3 spoke in 17" all for "old" bike and in difrent width . There is no price but if they cost resonable amount this must be way to go , also Paioli with forks .

having a few copper head gasket issues on both motors
will not be using them again but am stuck at the moment as the pistons are too large for a standard gasket
have to get the MLS head gaskets made sooner rather then later

no more copper head gaskets for me after this weekend

Red, hope it doesn't impact on the racing  :(

Guess I will polish mine up and use it to decorate the Xmas tree...

Hi Romeo

in North America the only Marvic source is YoyoDyne. A typical Marvic front wheel in 17 inch is slightly more than $1,000 U.S., and a typical Marvic rear wheel in 17 inch is slighlty less than $1,500 U.S., so say approximately $2,500 U.S., plus shipping, for a pair. Believe it or not, that is really reasonable in that marketplace, at least as compared to the alternatives, especially the BST carbon fiber wheels that I looked at last year for my ZX 14 at slightly less than $4,000 U.S. the pair... Amazing how many sets of those BSt carbon fiber wheels you see fitted to various late model sport bikes, but I couldn't justify the price myself...

the going price for the very last few unused new old stock sets of 18 inch Astralite wheels is approaching $1,800 the pair with all Laverda adaptors included, but there can't be many more unused new old stock sets left, so new production 18 inch Marvic's, if priced similarily to their line of 17 inch wheels, will be priced relatively attractively. Even to build a set of wire wheels for a Laverda, with a special made disc brake rear hub ($550) a decent pair of shouldered rims, good spokes, and labour to assemble/lace them, plus shipping, is easily $1,300 +

I see that they're only proposing to do the Morris and Campag replicas in 18 inch at the moment.
Pity...particularly if the CRMC in the UK falls into line with Aussie and NZ and allows 17's in Forgotten Era/Pre 82.

Wire wheels - the prices you quote paul, seem to be par for a lot of places around the world.
Makes me very happy to be here in NZ...locally we have a wheelbuilder who's been doing it since the early 50's
at very reasonable cost. A lot of us are seriously worried about what we'll do when he dies...he's already said he's not retiring,
He'll be found lying on his wheelbuilding jig. The building he's in has serious earthquake damage too, but he reopened last Friday.

My wire wheels on jota are made by Roger from OCT , hubs aluminium rims also from italian manufacturer San Remo for very resonable price they are very good , 18" on rims is printed 2,5 front and 3,5 rear but when i mesure them they are 2,75 front and 4,15rear wich is perfect fit for BT012SS i did this becouse same tires on PVM 3 spoke wheels loks much smaler and they are as written on them 2,5 and 3,5 .
BST Carbon wheels are expensive but they often crack , i know one supermoto racer from my area with this problems .
Once i send reqest to Marvic for 17" penta model for my ZXR750R K from 1991 they ofer set for 1560€ with shiping to Croatia ( wich is near to Italy ) . I am suspisious to magnesium wheels but cast magnesium should be much stronger .

Like this Campganolo 5 spoke model or even bether this Marvic 3 spoke wich is not avalible in 18" , for our racing series i need something in 18" 2,75-3 front and 4-4,5 rear .

Maybe it is not bad idea that few pepels order together to achive bether price .

Magni/EPM wheels will meet your requirements in either a 3 or 6 spoke pattern.

Back on topic - looking forward to the low down on how everything thing went with the racing over the weekend.

Cheers

Romeo, what tyre size are you using with these rims? Do you have an approx price for the set of wheels got from OCT? I know that Wolfgang has some nice spoke wheels too built with SFC 1000 Classic hubs but I don't know the price yet.

Bt012SS 150 rear fits perfect , OCT did all on my bike so the price was somehow special . Ask Piet or mail to OCT anyway it was fair deal .
