Painting the swithchgear. How?

I've got to sand blast and paint the NDenso switchgear off my 3CL. I've stripped them all down and out, cleaned up the fiddly bits, ready to go back together, but...

If I'm going to sandblast and spray the housings, how do I get the lettering back on???

I was thinking something like filling the lettering up with one of those whiteout pens prior to respraying, then gouging it out and using a fine brush with red paint for the highlights.

I'm not into re-inventing the wheel.

Any advice?

Regards, Greg

I use Humbrol model paint and a fine brush after painting black and letting dry thoroughly.
Wipe off excess with a cotton bud or similar.

Pretty much the same
I paint stripped mine with Nitromors and brass wire brush
High Build primer
Simoniz Black Satin Enamel
Humbrol matt orange infill into lettering and immediately wipe off with lint free rag

I used matt black for the body and acrylic bright orange for the lettering.
The acrylic is durable, been on a few years now.
It also allows any excess to be wiped off without leaving traces of orange.

I was going to use gloss black cos that's what I've got in a spray can. If I use satin black I've got to mix up 2 pack. Am I that wrong? Regards, Greg

If you want it to look like standard I would use matt or satin (some satins are glossier than others).
Gloss just looks naff to me, but what do I know.

Greg, you can buy spray cans of black brake caliper paint in a satin (or matte I think) from places like Supercheap. Gives a perfect and durable finish to things like switchgear and a few other things. Well to my eye anyway....................
