Never gets old……. Use it often
I met him at a mate's place in Sydney years ago. The funny bit was the last time we stayed at Tartha Pub on a Snowy Ride, what do I see leaving as we arrive but him on the BSA disappearing down the road. That's him. I had it on the tip of my tongue. HE actually sent me a VCR of the conversion. Very tidy. Was living up Tathra way.
I'll stick my head out and say that virtually NONE of the SFC replicas out there have anything remotely like a genuine factory built SFC motor, and virtually none have even a minimal number of SFC internals. An SFC crank is the heart and soul of an SFC but they have never been easy to come by.Since authentic SFCs are currently going for $30-40K USD, this copy is worth less, but ultimately up to the buyer’s knowledge of this, and if this copy has real SFC internals.
It appears to be in good condition-
At least 1 Electronica crank has been re-manufactured.I'll stick my head out and say that virtually NONE of the SFC replicas out there have anything remotely like a genuine factory built SFC motor, and virtually none have even a minimal number of SFC internals. Personally I would MUCH rather have an SFC motor in an SF than a bog standard SF motor in an SFC frame, genuine or otherwise.
As much as I love the woolly nature of the GT donk, I'd love to build a "SFC" motor for the GTL, would probably raise an eyebrow or 2!I'll stick my head out and say that virtually NONE of the SFC replicas out there have anything remotely like a genuine factory built SFC motor, and virtually none have even a minimal number of SFC internals. Quite a few real false drum brake SFCs out there. Easy to replicate. As much as I love the woolly nature of the GT donk, I'd love to build a "SFC" motor for the GTL, would probably raise an eyebrow or 2!
Agree, most replicas are sadly lacking, especially as most try to ape the 74-75 models. While cams may be readily available, still a long way to go to achieve the "SFC" feeling. Easiest to replicate would be the pre-74 models, these engines were far more roadster-based, still need to find the proper gearbox though.

With an annual mileage averaging less than 69 miles, it's fair to say that it doesn't get out much.Never seen this one at Willersey - Shame as Paxford is literally 4 or 5 miles away
I'll whip one up this afternoon on my little Emco Compact 8, PederRe: SFC crankshaft, as I see it you can make one yourself, or have it made by a company
