Good morning
New to this group in December there was a lot discussions on a Palmelli SFC up for sale at 35K , I’m now the very proud owner of this bike and didn’t pay anywhere near that price, just to confirm it’s a 100% replica with 270D crank handmade frame to original drawing handmade alloy tank and is awesome 🤩

Fantastic, Rush. Good on your for securing a piece of history. I'll be interested to hear your impressions after riding it. I was exchanging emails with Steve Elliott back in the early 90s after i'd twisted my SFC crank to 270. He seems to have disappeared completely.

Steve is still about but keeps himself very much to himself these days. I believe even Phil Todd finds it difficult to communicate with him.

Phil did tell me he'd lost touch a while back - it'd been a long time since I was in (brief) contact with him, so couldn't help Phil at all.

So it's one of their replicas, not the later custom framed Palmelli. Nicely done - interesting point, to do a virtual carbon copy and then twist the crank to 270 degrees.

So you better ask Steve Elliot????
Steve Elliott and I were in communication specifically to talk about 270 conversions, the best balance factor and the like. I think he even mentioned an 'experimental' 180 degree.

All Laverda Breganze twins started life as 360s.

really confused now 🤔 not that I’m an expert but have done a lot of research and never read this before
The problem is that a lot of people who've written books haven't done any research, only read other books.
That's how myths are born.
(all 750 SFC cranks are 360°, give or take a few degrees according to who built them)

Come on help me out, so is it 180 or 360 in original SFC the Palmelli 270 was an extra cost option standard 360 had a normal SF engine 270 was available in different stages of tune
