Do the vintage 1979 pegs come apart? I want to replate them...although I think the rubber could stay on for the plating I will probably try and replace it...so before I get a sharp knife...does the outer plate come off?

Before you cut the rubber off best make sure you can get replacements.

If you intend to have then zinc-plated, you can leave them together.  Do that quite often with crimped oil lines and footrests, even sparkplugs(for display purposes)!  Doesn't harm the rubber bits at all.

Don't know where MotoV is located, but cadmium has been banned in most of Europe for quite some time now.  Only coating that is readily available is zinc... as if it were a lot less environmentally hazardous! ::)

I drilled the rivets out, slid the rubbers off and painted the pegs. Used button headed allen bolts and nutswhen I put them together, good as new.

Does anyone know if SF peg rubbers are available?  I need 2 front and 2 rear.  Must be correct and perfect though.

Thanks.

Slater or Wolfgang will have the fronts. Not sure about the rear. Will be interested in some myself if you find a source.

How many do you need?  Fronts available from OCT off-the-shelf. :D
