Polishing/protecting aluminum engine covers?

If you don't do something about that ridiculous avatar henry I'm going to send you a bill for a new monitor, mine has got a smuge on it now where I keep poking the thing in its stupid winky eye.

Most everyone else has moved on from annoying avatars Henry.
I did prefer the smoking Kawasaki even.

Even avatars themselves are annoying as they are way too small to be meaningful, and if made bigger then you have to scroll across to see the rest of the picture.

Hi all,
I only ever washed my Laverda once, and that was when I bought it. Hot water and soap.
From then on I do this:
During the season, I just take a cloth and give the casings a quick rubbing, and clean the red paint once a week with window cleaner spray (cheap as dirt in supermarkets), and apply a fresh layer of canuba wax. Takes about 10 minutes all in all.
Once every 600Km or when needed, I use Afam x-ring cleaner and apply a new thin layer of Castrol chain wax.
Once a year I use a little metal polishing cream on the downpipes and Jota cans.
Before storing, I apply a very thin layer of sewing machine oil (acid free), and give the brake calipers a quick spray of car brake cleaner spray.
That's all during a whole year. I drive in sun and rain, it seems to never stick on to my bike. I like it clean but it's made to be used.

Cheers,
Jacques  ;)
