Yes, but I didn't turn the engine over to take the bottom off. I lifted the top off the bottom with the crank and top end still assembled in the upper case, leaving the bottom case with its gear clusters sitting on the bench. I used a chain block to lift it, with the lifting strops under the ends of the crank, so the crank, conrods and pistons wouldn't drop out (actually lifted the top half by the crank). Seemed to me a better and easier way of splitting the thing than turning it over. It'll go back together the same way - lowering the crank and top case onto the bottom case.
