Not mine. 1974 sf2 quote "stored for decades". UK bike seller posted on Fleabay and elsewhere at ?5,500 if someone fancies some tough negotiating

not you, but some people have crazy ideas.
I would not pay mor than 2500? for a not runjing bike in that condition. For 5000-6000 you could buy a running 750.

Put it another way.
Buy it ? 2500. Sell the wheels, the fork, the Laverda logo instruments, the tank and side panels and you've got your ? 2500 back and a spare engine.

Or add another ? 6000 to your ? 2500 and you have a lovely as new SF2.

Clearly an unrealistic asking price but he does mention 'offers'

At least when you buy a wreck, you know what you're buying. All a matter of price.

For 5 or 6000 ? you can also buy a running wreck and have to throw buckets of money at it.
I'd rather buy a cheap wreck.

Pretty much all there but cosmetically deteriorated (what's the whie 'confetti' all over it???!!!) - for the right price I'd buy it - A$2500 would do it. Much of the work required is labour ... if things like fork staunchions are rusted, motor dodgy, the expense multiplies very quickly. Would need to see it in the flesh before committing anything dollar-wise.
 
Not necessarily fucked. I helped with a worse looking one than that, but inside the engine was like new. Carbs were white powder inside and took some work, points cleaned up and it fired straight up, we could hardly believe it. But the external rust and corrosion would have cost a bloody fortune from here in Norway. Even though I could have bought it for small money I didn't.
