As my busted femur heals (slowly) I've been putting more miles on my 72 SF. She runs well but I do have a question for the forum !

Q The engine pulls the redline quite easily in top gear, and no there is not any clutch slip. Is this typical?
Q Can anyone help with what number of teeth the rear sprocket would have as standard?

Thanks

John

Hi John. Even my soft old GTL revs out in top, but I am running a 42t rear. Don't forget the red "line" is actually a band 1,000 rpm wide....she's just starting to sing when she gets to the end of it.

Guys thanks for the advice. I guess its been many years since i've owned a bike that i could max out in top. Just because she's nearly forty years ols does not mean she should be treated gently. I shall galdly and happily keep up the abuse  :D
