Punted Off So Soon?

Looking at it again, I suspect it was designed for a "Streamliner". Full fairing, full tuck, Bonneville speed record type thing. Possibly for a serious attempt, OR, PCP was involved!
 
Normally, Evan Wicox does amazing work and I'm hoping he was only following the owner's design. The side panels look like they were crudely cut w/ tin snips and then crudely mounted, so probably done by the owner.
 
I think part of the problem is its polished and the camera is reflecting odd ball looking detail. Funny i was thinking if it had been painted a better perspective might have been had.
 
Maybe a video would help show its aesthetic better. I just went through the full stack of photos. The tank has a cutout around the carb tops. That is incredibly complicated work. Beautiful sidecovers as well. Maybe it's just an unflattering camera angle. Contraversal bike for sure.

It must be interesting balancing that rear wheel.
 
The price has dropped and I think the tank would appear less ugly if painted. I recently looked at this Norton that has beautiful Wilcox bodywork and the fairing is similar to a Ducati. Anyone stateside looking for a Norton project, this would be a great deal- lots of nice spare parts and 2 engines in pieces (it's listed on Portland CL/Norton parts).

It wouldn’t take a lot of work to discard the ugly bits and return it to an acceptable bike.

We have a aluminium can refund system in Australia, 10 cents per can. I reckon the $ return for scrap aluminium could make it a good investment.
