I missed the start, my alarm went off at 530. As daylight saving started last week, it was still nighttime. So a more sane 630 arrived as I left. That helped me see through the intense fog in western Sydney. What didn't help was the imbasiles not turning their headlights on, so you didn't rear-end them in the pea soup. I did pass a nasty head-on on the way, Fire Trucks and Ambos, so that makes the point about seeing other vehicles is a good thing. The next issue in this whingfest was the approx 40 km of road works with the reduced speed limit, from 100 to 60kph on the southern end of The Putty. Reasonable road surface but no line markers, zero chance out there of anyone actually doing 60. Anyway, it was a great suspension test and every fiddle produced a good result. It's been nearly 6 months since my last ride, so it was definitely time. I did find some unused muscles that needed working out. Poor riding can have that effect, I was holding the bars way too tightly. On arriving, I was met by the usual bunch from the Sydney club, Appox 8 others. Sadly, the food at Gray Gums has taken a nose dive, the sausages looked very close to hot dogs, not impressed. I passed a newer food venue back up the road that I have heard great things about, and the big crowd kind of proves that. Most of the others decided to return via the Great North Loop, but 2 of us chickened out and headed home the way we came. All in all, it's a good start for me getting back into Laverda riding.
