Good morning all.
I'm after a bit of help/advice please...

Dad took TOG to Willersley (I think) a few months ago, which I think is the last time it left the house.
Dad took the bike in the back of the van instead of riding it because his new knee wasn't quite ready.

He mentioned to me afterwards that someone else had an issue with their fuel tap, so he swapped the one from TOG so they could carry on riding.

I had a look at Dad's bike yesterday and the fuel lines are disconnected from both fuel taps, so I assume he hasn't fitted a new one yet. However, after putting some fuel in and opening them they both flow ok. I'm not sure though if the fault is intermittent and it could become a problem after a mile or so!
Because they both seem to be working at the moment, it's impossible for me to know which one I need to change.
Does anyone know who he swapped with, so I can find out which side to change?

Hi David.
There are several tap designs used over the years but these taps have always worked well for me.
Usually they get stuck if not used, or clogged with debris or simply leak.
It's very simple to dismantle, clean and swap the rubber from one tap to the other if you don't want to buy both.

If you suspect a tap has been built up, check by blowing though that the tap functions as on/reserve. If the plastic standpipe ( inside strainer) is inserted in the wrong port, your reserve and on will be reversed which will leave you stranded.
