quick question

Hi all I stripped my Zane 750 and was that bothered about taking it apart without cutting the cam chain I didn't photo the orientation of pistons. My manual pics are bad and no arrow on new pistons, could someone advise me as regards fitting please

What I'd like to know is how the heck you got the pistons out without splitting the cam chain!

I thought these engines were basically bored out Montys?

[Edit] - OK, just thought about it, I can see how it might be possible, but.....

H my engine exploded the left conrod escaped and wrapped around the balance shaft . I couldn,t move the crank to get at the connecting pin on the camchain which only had 500 miles on . So I managed to get the camwheels off the cams and pull out the camshafts this enabled me to remove the head and cylinder and see the damage and get to chain joint. I had a job separating the cases as the balance shaft wouldn,t  turn but got their in the end . rewelded and machined cases ,new splash plates below crank, oct refurbished crank new barrel and pistons and new balance shaft.
gotta love your Zane ???

Do Laverda pistons have offset pin? (http://www.kfz-tech.de/Engl/Desachsierung.htm) generally offset to the front if memory serves.
I can't remember. If so then no cutouts or arrows could be a problem.

Yes... most of them.  At least all Breganze types, not so sure about Zane.
