Surprised the scrutineer let those too short jacket sleeves go. Looks like a Motodd sticker, on the helmet.
Seems too slim, but it could be our dear Clem.
I believe it's Charles Laurence, London on no. 27 ( Astra Club)
The other guy riding the triple 63 was Donald Raper, Tunbridge Wells and the year was likely 1980. Same club
I pulled that from a few assumptions and then a programme
The club, I googled and came up with this:
The Astra Motorcycle Racing Club (also known as Astra Motor Club or Astra Grasstrack Club) was active in the 1980s, primarily promoting grasstrack and road racing events at circuits in Southeast England, particularly at Lydden Hill and Brands Hatch.
History and Activities
Founding and Venues: The club was instrumental in the founding of the Lydden Hill Race Circuit in 1955, and promoted both stock-car racing and motorcycle grass-track racing there from 1957.
1980s Operations: In the 1980s, Astra held various race meetings, including those for the Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club (TOMCC) and other clubman events. Racers mentioned participation in Astra meetings at Lydden, Brands Hatch, and Snetterton during this period.
Racing Discipline: The club's activities focused on both grasstrack, which typically involves racing on flat oval dirt/grass tracks, and tarmac road racing, especially at Lydden Hill after the circuit was partially tarmacked in the early 1960s.
Notable Events: In the 1980s, the club hosted a preliminary round for the European Solo Championship in 1984, a significant event in the grasstrack calendar.
