Rear brake disc from a 750 SFC

Want to ask if anyone has a Rear brake disc from a 750 SFC, or knows anyone who might have one and would like to sell it.

The rear disc is unique to the SFC Ron. Rare as.

We are in a learning mode, but by 74 the SF's had cast wheels and disks brakes on the rear.

Any different from the SFC or the Triple for that matter !

I see spokes on his rim so I would say a late 73 SF or SFC model or even a Jota.

Wish the poster would enlighten us with year or even the serial # so we could tune in ;o)

No Ron, the cast wheels did not come until the SF3 in 1976. The rear brake disc of a wire wheel SFC is unique, because the rear hub is also unique. Ciao, Gert

Many years ago I got a pair of fairly similar disks custom made for the MV/Scarab front hub used on my racebike. They were very nicely made to my drawings by a place in Melbourne, who at the time did a sideline making replica RG500 floating disks favoured in classic racing.

It looks like there is nothing fancy about the SFC disk, just a lump of iron with some tabs on the inner diameter, so a copy is unlikely to be visibly different to an original (but Marnix will know!) . Given these things really are rocking-horse-poo-rare, getting one made might be a good option.

Given where you live, there is a guy by the name of Jörg Bohnenstiel in Germany who at the time was making disks. He sold iron rotors for the Scarab hubs and was very helpful. Back then I needed them in a hurry for the next race meeting and it worked out well to get them made locally, but they were about the same price as from Jörg. He was near Hockenheim so not far from Luxembourg. Might be worth contacting him in case he might do a custom job for you.

Maybe I should never have swapped that SFC hub, disc, sprockets (ex Larry Strung) for an SF3 clutch and gearbox!! No idea if the person I did the swap with still has the disc or if he wants to sell it. So I'm a great help, am I not?!

Sprocket was alloy 520 with fancy tapered head bolts? I may know where it is now.

No from memory the sprockets were 530 and would have bolted straight onto my old Laverda drum hub.
