Rear brake lever.

I have a 1977 series 1 180 Jota since last Oct which i am trying to return to running order after a two year lay up by P.O. The latest in this saga is, after fighting to get it off the centre stand on the bike lift, the brake lever caught the back of my leg and broke the foot plate bit off. My first thought was to get it welded but it looks as though the (P.O.) has already had ago at it. Does anyone have spare or surplus one to sell or are they like rocking horse muck to get hold of.
 
Ouch! How's your leg? Assume you're talking about the alloy triangle of the rear sets? They usually break if not correctly fitted with spacers in the middle. They Come up for sale from time to time here, but assume you will find an one in the UK.

"Foot plate" sounds like the pad on the end of the lever, not the alloy triangle of rearsets. It's a steel lever so there's no reason it can't be welded back on properly. If the PO did a lousy enough weld job for it to break off, that won't bother a competent welder. He'll just grind any old crappy weld away and start again.
 
I read plate as a peg side plate.

A welded brake lever pad on an 80 Jota doesn’t equate Cam. The aluminium type foot pedal are stuck on the lever with a countersunk screw.

Apologies for lack of info and thanks for the replies so far...it is a left hand gear lever(pre rearsets possibly) but looks like it has been filled with something on the older repair.(see pic). Not sure on the steel bit though.20220310_092731.jpg
