Normally the metal is blasted and then the rubber vulcanized on.

Gluing is problematic at temperatures of up to 120 degrees Celsius.

but getting adhesion to the rubber would be the biggest challenge ... Thomas is most likely right.

I saw some Loctite glues that are heat resistant, oil resistant and flexible for vibrations and so on, they are used for heavy gasket use… i thought this might work, unless I find a new spare of course..

It's actually the front damper blade, and no, absolutely should not be glued. Not sure, but I think these are still available.
