Reassembling SFC

The SFC1000 looks like a sheep in wolf's clothing to me.

...and the RGS like a sheep in goat clothing to me... I prefer the wolf in wolf's clothing, which - for me - my SFC is. And all it took to get there was new shocks on the rear, other rims and tires, modern carbs and exhaust...  :D

But isn't it great and really the point that counts that we are both very satisfied with what we have?  ;)

that is just a different sticker. In your case if you haunt for originality, keep it as is, it's cool enough I feel  ;)
Not a sticker Lothar, actually my painter airbrushed them on.

]Mine does not have the little l bracket on the fairing must have been a mod by the previous owner!

Cheers

Just finishing off an SFC1000 rebuild at the moment, I satin blacked the inside of the fairing which makes the thing look a little less cheap. The SFC1000 was not really a fitting swansong for Moto Laverda in my opinion, all of the parts that distinguish the machine from the RGS to make the bike "special" look like they came out of a Christmas cracker  ::) Very telling I think that the last triple to leave the line was a Corsa.

Nice looking bike from this angle, Keith.  The black helps a lot.  What clip-ons are those?

Clip ons are early GSXR bored out to suit the M1R forks then polished and I make the stainless bar ends.

those clip-ons look great (way better than the shonky old GSXR750 ones I sold on fleabay) and the stainless bar ends set them off a treat.

What's the story with the changes to the fork tops?

Bars are also nice and comfy. I've converted the forks to take Yamaha cartridges and Wilburs progressive springs. The tops are the original Yam parts machined to fit the Marzo legs, forks are adjustable for spring preload and rebound damping.
Cap arrangement is the standard (ridiculous) two lid thing Doc, just left one of the lids off.

Keith,
The throttle grip looks like it's nice and tight against the switchgear housing.  Mine has a great, huge gap in between. Adds to that cheesy fit and finish look. Does the one you have have a different throttle grip/housing arrangement?

Also, is there a small 90 degree bracket on the faring behind the 'no oil' tag to hold the triangular plastic cover?

I've fitted modern Suzuki switches to this one. You have the original twistgrip tube fitted which requires either finding an original grip with the void for the retainer or machining the raised grip retaining piece off fitting a standard length grip and shortening the tube a bit to suit, if doing it that way I machine a nylon washer to fit between the rubber and the throttle housing.
Yes it has the small angled bracket.
