Redax clutch

Dear all,
I am considering to buy a hydraulic clutch kit from Redax for my 1200, ai am about to finish and well, after assembling the clutch handle/cable I realized that it is damn hard, and as I am planning to use this bike regularly I thought I had to do something about it.
Do you know what else I need apart from the parts that Red includes in the kit? Do I need to install a master cylinder directly at the handlebar, or are there other more aesthetical solutions?
Any recommendations?

Best regards,
Miguel

Check out Steve B's (Breganzane) recent thread on the Magura inline hydraulic m/cyl. Could be a simple fix.

If you don't get a master cylinder with the redax conversion kit check what is the smallest you can get away with.
I say this because the standard set up by Laverda on the tripples was not much lighter than the cable and you could spend a lot and gain little. Has Hooksay said ask Red.
It will depend on the size of slave cylinder within the cover.
Alternatively there are kits available to increase the mechanical advantage of the cable operated clutch.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I don’t know why, but I barely use it. Is super noisy with the monty exhaust and the side stand not very reliable, but yes you are right, actually is almost the perfect Laverda, not too heavy, nice gearbox nice clutch, and every km is one km less of cam chain!!!🤣🤣🤦🏼‍♂️

Now Maurice, help me with my hydraulic clutch issue🙏🙏🤣🤣

If nothing has changed, Red uses the standard piston from Laverda (or better: one of them, as there were 30mm and 31mm ones IIRC).

Best to ask Red what's in there, but if it comes without slave piston, you can buy them from OCT (www.octeam.de), no problem.

For the master, yes, you have to buy one. There are several options but I agree with Andre: look for the smallest you can get (I think it's 13mm; 14 would be ideal, 13 is very light but does not separate the clutch 100%). The original size (16mm) is way to big and makes it hard to pull, too.

The Magura Solution is a great one. If you look for a classic look, that's the way to go I feel.

Hi!
Finally I have ordered one from Magura one from Red, one for each bike, then I can compare.
For the Red system, I have ordered a Brembo master cylinder of 13mm, recommended from Red:

He says a 12mm would drag, I understand this means that would not separe 100%.

Thanks all for your help, I will post photos and feeling when I have both installed.

Best regards
Miguel
