Redax

That un-finished crank immediately reminded me of a Scott Flying Squirrel crankshaft that has the big end pins cantilevered off the flywheels. :)

Exceptional work there Red. It makes me wonder whether anyone else is putting this much R&D into re-engineering other brands of old motorcycles. The only ones that come to mind are the Horner brothers with their Irving Vincents, but they're not making their engines available for Vincent enthusiasts to buy.
There was Patrick Godet and his Vincents.

Jeen's 880cc Twisted Twin back on the main bike lifter to be finished off
Happy engine after a few tweaks, starts on the button, drops straight to idle
Sorted out a couple of small issues, just waiting on mirrors to arrive and than time for road rego

I love this bike, want to build one of my own

Nice work, Red, What cam is it running?

Still fine tuning my FCRs and the Ignitech. Not yet able to get a totally happy idle - new needles and jets arrived today from Webike in Japan. Not entirely happy with the Ignitech Guzzi HE backing plate setup and the TCPI4 that isn't doing everything it's supposed to do.

You haven't forgotten about sending Bryan's Igni gear down for me to test have you?

now that my mate has set up his own CNC shop under the name PBE we will be expanding the Laverda parts range
now available are billet Tacho drive output flanges and bronze LG2 Speedo drive adapters

also did another run of the Rear set lever bush repair kits as first batch sold out within 24 hours

sometime in the next couple of months we will have the Speedo drive ring gears available once we have tested them

finished another Serbian 81 Jota, is the last 81 Jota we had that we bought in to Australia in our big Serbian Laverda haul, 19 Laverda's all told
Photo of how we found the poor bike in Serbia, then a photo of the same Jota after being restored by us loaded in the back of our Pickup on its way to be road registered
Started life as an European Jota with low comp pistons, A11 Cams, restrictive exhaust system etc
Now has new custom made 4C Cams, Ross Racing pistons, Arrow conrods, Jota exhaust, Racetech suspension front and back, braced frame, powder coated and painted everything, Eldorado seat, totally rebuilt everything
Bike is now effectively a brand new 81 Jota motorcycle

From 19 imported Laverda's we only have 1 x Series 2 x 1200 left to restore but that will not be until 2026
Flooded with engines to get through and the 3rd Scorch to complete

next few days is just working on race cranks, have 5 to do all told, Crank webs all CNC machined by PBE CNC Machining our favorite CNC shop
Pressed up 30 x Oil Slingers, added Mallory material to the inner webs, have rolled the Oil Slingers on to their webs
Now pressing all of them together without Conrods so they can go and get balanced
Bit of a process doing Race cranks

Plus have to install the suspension back on to the Race bikes, we had front and rear suspension units serviced
Our rear K-Tech race shocks are only rated to 20 hours of service, that is just insane

Nice exotica including the Maserati.

RGS Mainshafts, great idea that was changing from an LG2 Bronze bush as used on the Series 1 and 2 engines to Needle roller bearings
Every 2nd RGS one pulls apart you find the Needle roller bearings munched up, end of the Mainshaft munted and the bore of the Output shaft damaged as well

our cure, send Mainshafts to RAD Hard chrome and have them build up and Hard chrome the ends and grind them back to size
then output shaft/gears go to PBE CNC to have the bores increased to 25mm from 23mm and then machine and fit 2 x LG2 Bronze bushes with Oil scrolls and leaving the lubrication hole open between the bushes

job done, no more Mainshaft issues

Damaged Mainshafts, still need to go off for repair in the New Year
RGS Mainshafts stuffed

Repaired Mainshafts
RGS Mainshafts chromed

an RGS Mainshaft in Blue and a 120 Jota Mainshaft showing the difference in their gearboxes

had a special request from Germany for one of our billet hydraulic Sprocket covers but with "Cico Laverda" engraved on it
just happen to know someone in Sydney that also has a Cico Laverda so checked if they would like a custom cover as well
and here they are, we machined 10 covers all told, photo showing 2 x "Cico Laverda", 1 x "Redax Laverda" and the 4th cover has no logo

more bling from the PBE CNC shop, Waz been busy while I have been driving aimlessly to Darwin and back
custom made and designed foot peg plates with Exhaust muffler provision and rear Master cylinder on the right side

Engine started life as a 120 Jota, is now a 180 Jota due to solid mounted in the frame
Came up looking mighty fine, will polish them when bike is finished and stripped for Powder coating, painting, chrome etc
