Put 2 or 3 thousand  Kms on the clock then go over the bike with a first service.
1. oil change
2. clean strainer
3. Valve clearance check
4. cam chain tension
5. primary chain tension
6. Carb sync
7. final drive chain tension
8. wheel alignment
9 steering head bearing tension
10. clutch cable adjustment
11. throttle cable adjustment

being a new engine it should have the shims done at 1,000 klms and have the head re-torqued plus a full service

It's not done with those instruments by just replacing the faces, and the guys in the article you have linked miss most if not all of it. But you should know this already. You wrote somewhere else here, that you would ask for professional help even to take off a float bowl from the Dellortos. I'm just wondering what actually makes you think that you will be able to "restore" your clocks by your own then? I.e. cleaning, relubricating with the proper liquids, refilling the damper, readjusting, getting them sealed watertight again? ::)

BTW, tach and speedo cables do not like to be bend as shown in your photo...

Impulsive I guess. Sometimes you have to try things. Clocks seemed less intimidating than carbies. Anyway we'll have to get someone to look at them now I've started!
