Hi all,
I was a few days disconnected and i though I would now post some of my developments with my tank.
Original plan: sand blast it, confirm there were no holes, make the Tank Cure treatment and paint it with this lovely leaf green colour.
Reality: i found that....
So, asking around, there is a guy on the island who is able to repair it, apparently he is very good, a friend sent me some photos of his repairs, and he can cut, reweld, re shape with very good results. But I thought before I go to him, I try to put some tin on the holes, try to cover them, so that I can put the epoxy cover inside. Covering them with tin was not very easy because the holes were too big for very liquid tin, so I had to do it a bit colder, but eventually worked.
Now I have to decide wether I leave it like this, make the treatment and then grind the rest of tin and paint or if I remove it and bring it to this guy to make a new piece in that area of the tank... Any recommendations? i never did a tank cure treatment and never had those holes in a tank.
