Replacing brake pads

Note to self, when replacing the brake pads on the right hand side, leave the master cylinder cap on as when you push the pistons back the brake fluid shoots up and lands right on your head.......gggrrrrrrr.....

So new Ferodo Platinums installed. Yet to take it for a ride though. The pads are pretty hairy, as someone said may take a while to bed in!

Hi Drikko,

had good success with a method for bedding in the pads that a friend of mine recommended: go on the (hopefully FREE) Road, make sure no one is behind you when you brake the bike with gentle but not to harsh pull of the front master lever down from 100Km/h to 70Km/h, accelerate to 100, brake to 70 etc. (total of 10 times). Then you do the same with a bit more force applied from 100 down to 30km/h. That should bed in the pads within 20 Minutes or so. Did that with mine on 2 different bikes, rear and front - all perfect now.

Sounds like a project for Saturday morning  :D :D

Thanks for that, will do. Mind you that sounds like a typical run around the hills we mistakenly call mountains near here.
