Replica Seat Unit - call for interest

Putting out calls again for anyone who wants a replica of this seat.

$375 AUD for the fibreglass unit (no gel coat or finishing, no mounting bracket or seat ) plus postage. I?m basing that on there being at least 3 orders to make it worthwhile.

If you only need the fender and the seat, you could leave the bike behind.
Would make shipping cheaper.

Also just wanted to say that if we get more orders (probably 6+) then I'll start to reduce the unit cost assuming everyone pays. I didn't make this seat, I inherited it from another racer and I've been on the receiving end of far too much help and great advice on this forum to be trying to profit from this exercise. I would like to cover the cost of the mold but after that I'm happy to pass back the cost and pay the same as everyone else.
 
Great camaraderie, Carlo. The seat unit looks the goods on a 3C/CL. I'd say yes, but just don't think it would suit the SFQ. And I've spent far too much time an effort making triangular SFC style sidecovers. Which I might offer for sale once I see how they look - they'd fit a std SF frame triangle but would need new fitting tabs welded onto the frame (and grind off a few of the SF ones).

These are some pics for the underside of the seat.

To mount it I made one bracket and it is just a loop of metal that bolts onto the seat unit, it runs all the way under the rear part of the seat as I figured that would help minimise the weight be taken by any one part of the tail - and for my first stab its been rock solid through road and track use. It bolted onto two little brackets on the frame so not sure if those are on all he triple frames.

There is some strategic foam padding under the seat where it sits on the frame so that it takes the weight of the rider and doesn't stress the rear bracket.

The seat unit was made first using a laser cut seat metal template then the seat was built on that. It cost about $400 which I thought was pretty reasonable, and its been great, although you may want something thicker I have been perfectly comfortable on it long distance.

The front of the unit bolts straight into the frame mounted points that I believe are used for side panels (pic included). You need to work out the best way to secure, I have a bolt going through a large rubber grommet.

I am going to get the spare holes filled in when they make the mold, so there will no hole on top at the rear and on the side, although will keep the shark gills.

In my setup you need a 10 spanner and an allen key stashed, or alternatively you need to make sure you?re riding with Brett.

Would like to fit some dzeus fasteners.
 
I had some I fitted to the lower section of the TT Montegi fairing I had. I cannot remember where I got them from, they were red or blue anandised and I think available in 2 sizes.
