HMCCQ, the historical club of QLD, have been running regular rides on the 2nd and 4th Thursday.
Today, three Laverda twins rode up to the Landsborough pub. Was good having a beer with Barry (black SF2) and Mick (early GT).

Beautiful bikes! I never thought I would say this, but I’m coming to think that the twins are better looking than the triples. I wonder if I could trade my RGS Exec for a 750 someday…..

What are those stick things on the r/h side of the Triumphs and z1000? Oh that’s right ……

Kick starters. Bloody good idea, even on electric start bikes. How often have you been unable to start because of a knackered sprag clutch, flat battery or some other electrical gremlin? Some bikes are not so easy to push start.

I remember when my Ducati MHR had a buggered sprag clutch and it was my only form of transport for a while. There was no way I could push start that bike. It didn't matter how fast you could push the bike or what gear you had it in, the back wheel would just lock up as soon as you dropped the clutch. I always had to park it on top of a hill so I could roll down fast enough to get it started. It needed to be doing at least 30kph in top gear to bump start. Fortunately Hobart has plenty of hills, but sometimes I'd have to park a long way from where I wanted to go.

From 1973 to 1882 the Jota Triple was KING of the Road until the introduction of the Suzuki 1100 GWXR Kantana for 1/2 the price and killed Breganzie.
