RGS camchain tensioner blade

Happy new year all. Just got the new blade from Red, couple of questions. How do you get the nut off the old one to fit to the new one? The new blade is flat, whereas the old blade has a bend at the bottom. Does this matter?

Cheers
Marty

G'day Marty,
I changed the blade on the Yellow Peril a while back. To remove the nut/ferrule, I placed a a socket over the large end and a small socket over the small end and pressed them apart in a vice.
The bend at the bottom of the blade is important to get it to sit properly in the cases, just a matter of bending it in a vice to replicate the radius on the old blade.
I had to dress the hole on the new blade with a file to get the nut to sit flush.
Hope that helps.

I forget the name but that nut looked, revnut. I think, there is a tool like a pop riveter, I think there one use only. I used them to fit a side stand to an alloy box-section swingarm once.

Those revnuts have a crimping effect like a pop rivet, there not a pressed fit. So no crimping and it's not one of those.

Thanks Terry, so it's just pressed in, cool. I wasn't sure if it was 2 pieces or what. Hopefully the hole in the new blade is a nice snug fit to press the new one in.
