RGS Executive conversion done

The stock RGS bars put far too much weight on my wrists, it's a long reach to the bars for me...

The higher RGA/Executive bars make the bike close to "flickable"! The ContiSport on the front probably helps a bit too. Lots more leverage and easier on my buggered back.

I do have a screen with a spoiler lip à la 1000SFC, which helps a bit with the buffeting. I'm a bit hesitant to cutting venting holes or slots in this as new ones are not to be expected.

Perhaps not in Europe, but Gustafson Plastics in Florida sold me one last year. Check their catalog, Laverda is still listed and they will mold one to order.

Wow, crazy prices. Add postage and import duties, a simple bubble comes close to €400. A custom-built item even more. Nah, don't think so.

The pictured screen retailed for €85 a few years ago. This screen is tailored at the bottom edge to fit the RGS fairing and even came with the fitting holes drilled. Manufacturers and dealers here are more than happy to slap on a 40-50% surcharge these days in the name of greed inflation, that's still only €130-150. I think I'll just remain careful and not break what I have...

I think new tires are my first move before coming to any conclusions. Currently running Avon AM26 and they're getting past their best-buy date. Looking at ContiRoadAttack 3, they're actually listed on the Conti site, but the listed rear is a 130/80-18 against the stock 120/90-18. What size are you running?

You could try the Jota Enduro screen Piet, with knobbly tyres.

RGS had 130/80 as stock fitment in Europe... on a far too narrow 2.5" rim.

Can't take my bike as an example, I'm running a tubeless 130/80 on a 3.5" rim at the rear, which is about as perfect as it gets, profile-wise. Guess a 140/70 would also fit nicely, but not really needed. Not totally convinced by the Contis, despite the hype, they will be replaced by Bridgestones when they wear out.

100/90 on a 2.75" front rim.

I ran the Contis when they first came out, loved them, but not long-wearing, so next set was Avons. Long-wearing, but don't really love them. I ran a Road Attack Front and Classic Attack rear, they didn't make a Classic Attack in the needed size for the front. Still the case, but the front's now called the Road Attack 3. Ran a couple 3 sets of BT45s, which have been superseded by the BT46, which I haven't. Certainly a cheaper option than the Contis.
