in what way is the front cam chain guide installed?
any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

The nylon anti chatter blade has 4 locating pins cast into it - these locate in recesses machined into the crankcase and barrels. The workshop manual seems to skip over its replacement, but the blade needs to be slotted into position as the barrels are replaced. Care is needed to correctly position the blade to engage properly in the recesses - not unusual for the pins to be broken. The bottom pin locations are hidden as barrels are lowered. Factory workshop manual shows the top arrangement...

thank you Rob,
looks like its inserted from the top and twisted in place?
or do the barrels need to be off?

Yes, they do. There are two similar tabs at the bottom.
If there aren't, you need a new one.
thanks all, found the problem, after I pulled the barrels found the base gasket facing front to back
and so hiding the bottom slots ! cursed myself for a while!!

it broke when you wanted to put the barrels on the pistons?
It is difficult without the right tools.
I once made it the other way at a 120 deg triple. First put the pistons in the barrel and then the the pins in the pistons, was not easy but good for the rings.
Do not know wether it works with a 180 deg??

looks doable might try that when I get the new parts
will see if I can find the right size hose clamps
for ring compressors, worked on the 750!
