RGS locking fuel cap

I worked on a blokes Holliday shack at Palm Beach, millionaires row. This bloke owned two places next to each other, his was flat out amazing including the artworks on the walls. Next doors was to be renoed but was pretty crap and for the kids. Anyway one of the jobs I had was to install a soft timber buffer to this steel gadget he parked his Bently on in the garage. He kept scarping the Bently when parking. This steel gadget was the top of a car stacking gadget, below ground in a pit was the Ferrari he parked on top off. Paul, maybe you need some kind of stackable racking for the bikes in the new shed.

Do you know a good lawyer?  ;)

Who needs a garage? I took the jota for a run today and visited a friend. He has 2 bikes in the kitchen, 2 in the lounge and 3 in a spare bedroom. Perhaps you should take a leaf out of his book.

Can you rent a unit or workshop nearby?
In the end that's what I had to do.

Paul, I have a friend in the USA (Cleveland) that has made his fortune creating basements for houses locally.
In the winter his own palace above ground is mostly deserted and the family live underground.

How deep is the permafrost in your area?

Hi Grant

I was out scouting yesterday afternoon for a heated garage to rent anywhere near the area we are moving to, nothing so far. Also checked out renting or buying a "sea crate" but would have to find somewhere to put it. A brand new 40 foot sea crate is "only" $3,900 brand new, would be cheaper to buy one if I can find somewhere to put it, unfortunately not permitted where we are moving to.

In a perfect world we would move to an acreage, but acreages around Calgary all restrict the land owner to only one outbuilding and of no more than 800 square feet, you have to go quite a fair ways outside of Calgary to get land you can do what you want with, and not ready to move that far out of town, yet.

Hi Simon

almost all the houses around here have full or at least half basements, I have in the past looked at building a garage with a lower basement, foundation work and supporting structure for the main floor is very pricey, more than I want to spend. No permafrost around here, that is way further north.

Wow Paul, all those restrictions are crazy, it's not like you guys in the NW have a shortage of land, but I feel your pain I have to downsize my number of bikes from 9 down to 6, just out of room , one stall garage /workshop and one 10x18 shed

Underground construction is easy, keeping the water out is the hard bit. And from the Canadian building TV shows there freeze then melt climate makes it way harder to avoid condensation or concrete cancer.

Who gives a shit about failures of locking fuel caps let alone ignitions or forks with a Breganzie.

I would spend more time ensuring the Head Lite (Plus Fog Lites), the tail lite with brake lites and flashers work and don't don't forget about the license plate lite bulb.

I doubt very much if you will suffer Lbs of sugar in your tank let alone dozens of Druelling Pirate Hog Riders swarming her with envy.

So hide her when parking and hope you don't drop her when pulling away.

Thanks Jim for the backup - I'm really sorry you didn't get her - Circumstances beyond our control.

Hope the new owner don't destroy her.

Diaphragm walls Vince,
Tanking membranes on the walls and cast insitu, i'd even be inclined to run external total loss formwork as PU foam blocks, they are never a cheap exercise, but hey - you get an underground bunker garage.

Better if Paul open's up, PLC Legal Moto Sport: The coffee, the inappropriate 70's posters, bike storage and workshop: whats not to love ;)

My last experience was a few lift shafts on a very expensive development again at Palm Beach, it was across the road from the beach at beach level. The builder, very stupidly loved cutting costs with any waterproofing and the owners didnt like these pits flooding with salt water. Virtually imposable to fix after its finished like I was trying to do but anything to keep out of court.Don't expect anything special in a $10 million townhouse, they all have problems
