That's a fantastic rundown of the process involved, Tom. Nice work! I've had good results using plumbing poly pipe as instrument housings, machining on a lathe is pretty easy. But you've done a great job of reusing as much of the RGS system as you could. Many thanks for posting.

if I can get the face off my ZXR unit I'll only need (hopefully) to fit a new dial face. Hoping the needle comes off easily.

I replaced mine, about ten years ago, but it won't work when I connect it to the Ignitech.

Hy Darren, Melle..... you are a Wiz with the scanner and paint Not really, my hand still hurts from moving the mouse, my eyes are still sore from staring at the screen, but the result was alright! Connect the power supply wires from the tacho to your battery, Red wire is +, black is -, signal...

I'll be interested to see how you get on. I tried using an item like that but it was too deep to fit in the RGS instrument housing...and very difficult to successfully separate the stepper motor assembly from the front dial
