My RGS recently and annoyingly failed it's last ever MOT before becoming "of historical significance" due to a warped right disc. I put it in the lathe but the warping was not really correctable so purchased two new EBC discs. These are stainless on carriers rather than the solid one piece originals. My problem is that once installed the nut of the speedo cable connection grinds on the disc carrier. It's not really bad in that the wheel still spins easily by hand despite this, it's just rubbed the gold off the disc carrier in a circle at the point of contact. I suppose I could take a fraction off the back of the carrier to move the disc in a smidge it would need hardly anything as its only just touching and they're floating discs so would probably not make any difference to the disc centering in the caliper; or put a shim under the speedo drive housing ( is there enough width of gear contact to allow this? ) but I've not heard anyone else mention this on here so I'm thinking ( as I usually do when anything doesn't quite work perfectly ) what could I have done wrong to create this problem or has anyone else experienced it?
