Riding a bike no one has ever heard of, Laverda

It's not a good example. Everyone knew it was coming from China. The question though was if it came out of a Laboratory or from a different source, just like other deadly deseases. This question is still not answered afaik. So - if Trump - with 11 lies puplically spread PER DAY (including sundays and public holidays) in avarage (proven by several different sources) was right to say what all other said, too, he is a great guy, eh?

It was never questioned if it came from China. The point in this discussion was, if it was offending that he called it "the china virus" (maybe because he could not remember the real name, COVID...?) or should better remain with what it was, a virus first broken out in China, called COVID (or better SARS-Cov-2).

What difference does it make at this point? Or did it ever make? Just get the damn jabs!
Less people have died FROM the jabs, than without. Nobody has ever claimed the jabs would save you 100%, but they do considerably raise the survival rate.

As long as the deniers and anti-vaxxers carry the brunt of the toll, I'm quite OK with it... imho they all qualify for the Darwin Award.

It does seem undisputed that the virus originated in China, from which source, we're likely to never know exactly. Perhaps if the Chinese population eventually overthrows the authoritarian and installs a democratically elected government (ha, ha, fat chance...), facts might come to light. Rumours and theories don't turn into facts by themselves.

Wow, just read the last couple pages of this thread! Socialism, Capitalism, Trump, Covid, science & media corrupted by vested interests (business or political) - Ahh, wouldn't be dead for quids.
I was just going to say that I often meet blokes that reckon they had a Laverda back in the day, but the conversation usually confirms they aren't even sure how many cylinders they had.......

yep, After parking my Series 2 and while waiting for the other two reprobates get their coffees I overheard a conversation from the next table explaining how he once owned a Laverda and pointing out to his mates that the 3cl was a 180 and the Jota was a 120.
Well I couldn't let that go and corrected him adding that the although the engine cases look the same as the 120's my bike was the last of the 180's
{Please I don't want to split hairs}.
And after balancing the carbs using the Morgan carbtune Pro, and a few other tweaks it certainly kick up its heals.
Good quick ride nearly 300 K's.

I think the solution is to rebadge any Aprilia you buy as a Laverda and our old Laverdas as Aprilias, That will fuck with their minds if nothing else…

At a fuel service station, attendant turned off the pump as we went to fill the two RGS's with leaded fuel, out he comes onto the driveway, those are modern bikes and need unleaded he informs us with conviction...bless his formative years cotton undies.... made my mates day that did...

Of correcting others about Laverda actual and historic, that is a lifetimes work, best let them have their version, what harm at days end... the classic of the day magazines review " real mans bike..." yes i qualify at 5'8" and 10 stone...." era measures are of the age also... grin..

That Rogan bloke did some interesting podcasts till Covid, then he fell down that rabbit hole hitting his head way too many times to be good losing every ounce of credibility he had.
