The one-time Mayor of Bicheno, Bertrand Cadart passed away today. Known for his involvement in the "Mad Max" movies and for his La Parisienne motorcycle fairings of the 1970's and 80's, Bertrand (otherwise known as "The Frog") will be sorely missed among the tight-knit Tasmanian motorcycle fraternity.

Pretty sure he had a workshop down in Cheltenham Vic, before he moved to Tas ?
If so, had my Jota down there for some work back in the day!
He tried to flog me some fournale shocks. Interesting character,
RIP Bertrand.

Great bloke, good for a chat.
Had his factory in Noble Park.
Helped me out when racing the Jota.
Did sell me some Founales shocks and a fairing and a tankbag and a.......
Caught up with him in Bicheno Tasmania.
He was in his element there.
RIP Bertrand

Sorry to hear that he's died. He was an interesting chap with a froggy accent that sounded like he belonged on the set of 'Allo 'Allo!  :D
The world needs interesting characters.

I met him a couple of times in recent years at bike shows in Tassie. But the first time I came across him was way back in the 70's in his "La Parisienne" motorcycle accessory shop in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. I was looking for a fairing for my Kawasaki Z1 at the time, but was mightily impressed with a Moto Martin frame he had in the shop. It was beautifully built and set up to drop a Kwak 900 engine straight in. Bertrand "the Frog" Cadart was giving me the sales pitch. It wasn't cheap, but if I'd had the money at the time I reckon I'd have bought it.

One of the locals has a set of Founales shocks on his RGS and loves them. I never met the bloke but he had a huge reputation around Oz
