SFC750 pilot and good mate Chris passed away today. Hope there are lots of bikes to ride wherever you go. You will be missed. Ride on comrade.

It is with a great deal of sadness to tell you Chris passed away at around 3.30 this afternoon. He did so very peacefully surrounded by a great deal of love and respect. We have lost a remarkable man and friend.

Sad news indeed.. a gent of the best kind in all things, but loved his machines, Laverdas included of course.. ;)
My thoughts to all of Chris's family and good friends..

Absolutely, and about some of the incredible bikes he owned. His race twin that I first saw at the revival of Motorcycle racing on Mt Panorama Bathurst got me fired up to resurrect my 3c. He was quietly spoken but I loved chatting motorcycles with him. My last encounter was at Walca on The Brass Monkey Ride. Still smile about an earlier Brass Monkey where he Drove Marty's Tiny MG race car all the way up there in the Freezing cold including going missing with a brake down in the dark. Typically finding and fixing the broken earth wire himself and self-rescuing. Very clever. He has such an interesting life.
 
Over the years Chris and I had infrequent, but always nice contact. The first contact was by letter, the last through Facebook. He always had ambituous plans, right from the start after buying his SFC in 1992, until a few months ago..

Always up for a chat and I wont forget you driving and me passengering in Marty's 4 pot racer - the mighty Austin 7 in and around Walcha.
You left a legacy in our AUS LAVERDA world and led an amazing life outside your motorcycle interests.
 
I first met Chris at Oran Park back in the 90's. Vic Vasella was riding his SFC, and it put a clutch bearing through the primary case. I wheeled my twin into the pits, they borrowed the primary cover and where out in the next race. I got my bike back at the end of the day to ride home.
