RIP Dave Nourish

Nobody mentioned it.
Dave Nourish, high class engineer for British engines passed away on October 18th and was buried last Saturday, October 30th.
He was a good friend of my friend Bruno who's engineering skills I rate highly. Bruno learnt a lot from Dave Nourish who lent Bruno and his son Steve bikes to go and beat the British at their own game.

Dave was a top grasstrack rider as well as great engineer. I was mates with his son Andy who rode against me on a 270’ Weslake before anyone else made a fuss about it. Used to make billet cranks that we’re amazing.
He also got a Godden Vee twin going better than anyone, clever lad.

Yes, he bought the rights to the Weslake four valve head- actually ended up manafacturing complete “Nourish” engines with billet cranks, heavy duty cases etc. One man show, did it all , superb engineer but with a huge understanding of what makes a motor tick.

This Nourish race engine always got plenty of attention from me and many others.
It would often compete at Eastern Creek, Sydney in the Barry Sheene Festival of Speed.

he sold on the business a few years ago, but not very many from a retirement point of view, sadly the current owner is trading on Daves goodwill and floundering badly, he is running out of loyal customers faster than a sand salesman in a desert.

It was Covid. He was 90.
