My good friend since a long time, Eric aka Dude passed away on February 25th last.
When I met him, he was riding a gutless BMW R65. He then bought a 1200 Lav and never looked back.
My 3C was one of his ex.
He's on the right with his RGS on the photo from our trip to the IOM TT in 92.

Yet another Laverda owner gone, which is very sad. Dude made some good contributions to the forum, and could always be relied upon to post some interesting old pictures. I also thought his posting on the Honda debate was one of the most amusing, but, at the same time, quite thought provoking. My condolences to his family and friends.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your mate. Your photo of your visit to the Isle Of Man TT brought back the happy but also sad memory of an meeting an Aussie Melbunian mate, Paul Van Grondelle, who I'd got to know through another owners forum for the Gpz900r. I spent a good number of TTs discussing the racing, as it happened, with him on Messenger listening to the Radio TT commentary via the interweb and myself at the trackside at the TT. He did a European tour back in 2012 and visiting the TT was a lifelong dream. Sadly, Paul passed away in 2017 in his home city of Melbourne.

Condolences to you and his family, Paul.

These are the sadest posts always and I fear there are more to come. Lost 3 close friends that I wouldn't have met without the Laverda hobby over the past years, all to early and all missed heavily. Together we created memories that I love to remember and hope you can, too, once the pain of loosing him doesn't hurt so terrible anymore. All the best for you.

Very sorry to hear of your friends passing Paul. Mind your talk of the bike sitting in his basement from memory and your wanting to referb it. My Condolences to his family and wider family circle.
