Roller Starter

Reckon you're going to have to try harder Dave. Keel rollers come in differing widths , these look the same.

Ive seen partial kits offered too but reckon if you have the skills to build one you may as well source all the parts.

I considered rollers when I built my race bikes but decided that a remote starter system was a better way to go
Which has now proved to be the correct decision as now that we have installed custom made Slipper clutches in our race bikes rollers would no longer be able to start the engines as the clutch would open, thus stopping the engines from turning over

Watching someone use rollers on there own on a race bike without a built in bike stand looks hysterically scary to me. But way better than bump starting. I made the serious error seeing someone trying to start a racing WLA Harley once. Minimum Injuries occurred luckily with it starting and me nose planting in the asphalt car park at Eastern Creek.

You get good at it after a few goes Vince, and you can do it by yourself. I found it more uncomfortable putting the bike onto the race stand, it was easier using the footpeg side stand I got from Lothar first, then doing the race stand.

Those rear race stands look precarious. Seen training vids where you're supposed to hold your bike up and walk right around it while balancing it on its wheels. Others where you mount from the right side with the bike on a sidestand. Not comfortable doing any of that. BTW, if I didnt have pivoting pegs, I would definitely use one of Loathar's peg-mounted stands. Years back, one of the locals with a Barsalona Replica he used as a road bike only used one of Loathar's stands

I think I'd like one of those Lothar stands for the SFQ when I'm touring. Balancing the bike while I navigate my right leg through the gap between tank and seat hump-luggage is a bit fraught - and the amount of damage that can occur if it hits the deck is nasty. A prop like Lothar's until I'm off the bike and can get it onto the centre stand would be great. I'm also keen to see if I can get it onto the centre stand while still astride it - I'll definitely need to shorten my adjustable stand legs down to reduce the rear wheel lift if I'm going to have any chance.
