Ross pistons -- ring gaps?

The Ross Racing Pistons installation sheet is here:  http://rosspistons.com/information/racing_rings_installation.pdf

The gapping instructions are a bit vague.  It says in most cases the gap = bore size in inches X .004  ---  That equates to 0.30mm.  (The factory manual gives a range of 0.20 - 0.30mm.)

I have questions:

1.  What should I be using with these pistons, in fresh bores?
2.  Should I be setting the second ring to a larger gap, as Ross recommends?

Thank you!
Chris

pistons were made by Ross as were the ring sets so follow what they recommend
don't follow what is in the Green Book for example as the Mondial and Asso pistons referred to are different type and construction then the Ross forged pistons

I use Ross pistons exclusively and I set the ring gaps at 0.35mm for top ring and 0.40mm for the second ring for 80.5mm bores and above
if you are building a 75.5mm +/- bore use 0.30mm top ring and 0.35mm second ring as your ring gaps

interestingly, Total Seal rings which Ross supply sometimes are opposite, they recommend a larger gap on the top ring and smaller on the second ring

Thank you sir, exactly what I wanted to know.
