RS36, needle seat.

FWIW, Just had a novel issue with persistent stationary Jota ( yes i know, not meant to be stationary ) and LHS RS36 leaking over flow tube from the float bowl ( i do connect those outlets and route away from the back tyre ). Imagined it was a sticking needle seat, not so, was the oring with compression set, leaking past the seat body, plus never knew there was a clever gauze filter a'top of the seat, which had some solid matters from the tank trapped.

Have a kit of Orings here, sorted in minutes. Is the correct float height at 18m/m correct, indulge my lack or search the forums...read it somewhere. Tah j.
 
Noticed a wet patch on the trailer floor under the bike when I got home and yep smelt like petrol. Damn, forgot to turn the fuel tap off, very unlike me but ill blame all the excitement I had fanging I mustáv forgot. Just to make sure the cylinder wasn't full I turned the motor over by hand.

Somewhere here I've got a bag of those little conical filters. First thing to remove when running on alcohol based fuel.
They're a noticeable flow restriction. And block very easily.
 
Rob, the effected carb on newly back on road 79 Jota, was running well rich, the other two plugs, non leaking needle seat, biscuit brown on the nose ( not mine..the plug... ), sooty black on the left. Tah Hooksey, thought i had discovered the culprit Oring... jonny come lately would have it, instead. Pretty easy carby to work on, all in all. Set the float stop at 18mm. j
