Has anyone "just out of interest" ever had any success making an alternative engine mount perhaps with a poly-bush and some tubing type setup??

Not for a Laverda but I've made up several motor mount bushes from urethane stock.
It's available in several hardnesses, colour coded. I've used the red or orange in the past. Orange seems to be the hardness used in aftermarket car suspension bushes. Red makes very good cush drive bushes for race mags, Marvic, RS Honda etc.

I have been looking at some poly-bush kits and they are a few that would be suitable all I would need to do is fabricate the outer sleeve from tubing of the correct size and diameter and weld on a tab it would seem. I may try a couple and see what happens.
