Found this tank a a temp solution to the leaking SF tank on my bike. But I also need a different seat now. I live in The Netherlands and have relatives in France, if that's any easier.

I have no first-hand knowledge but some tanks are different on their underside to fit different model frames and some seats use round front mounting pins and some use flat bars. Take care you get one that will fit.
 
Thanks! What I could find on this forum is that the (leaking) early S/SF hump tank I have now is longer than the GT tank. So the GT seat is longer than the SF one I have now, it will of course fit but leaves a gap. Note I have not actually disassembled it all to take a better look & some measurements so perhaps it would be wise to do that as well. Too bad this thing called work takes up so much time, yet it seems to be needed to have $$ for the fun stuff :D

My 750's registration is very early 1971 model (may have been produced in late 1970?)
So to properly fit the tank for a while I'm looking for a GT seat. The tank came from a 1970-1971 model (earlier ones have a different mounting and a screw cap instead of a flip-up as mine).

The lengths are different because the early GT tank is shorter.

Just can't justifiy 600+ EUR for something temporarily that goes with a dented old tank.

The issue w/ the seats isn't so much the length, but how far back from the front are the mounting brackets attached to the base. With your tank firmly mounted measure the distance between the end of the tank to the mount holes on the frame. Cost wise, an aftermarket seat w/ pan will be cheaper than most used Laverda seats, which may not fit any better than what you have. For example, my SF OEM solo seat has the mount brackets attached @ 19" from the front edge of the seat.

What about having the current seat re-upholstered?

The current seat is pretty decent, and if I can get the early SF tank (looks similar to the S tank) fixed it will go back on along with the seat. The problem insofar is that this style of tank is longer than the early GT tank, so there is a ~3cm gap between the tank and the seat. A loooong time ago my dad had the same problem after his accident, he found this style of GT tank I have now but it left a gap between the seat and tank. He traded that tank for the current SF tank (which has leaked for years). And since it was originally a GT I'd love to have both sets so you can always swap. (and ignore the rest of the differences like front fork, mudguard, etc) ;)
