all the tyre shops that I know of no longer fit plugs from the outside to car tyres, they remove the tyre and fit a mushroom headed plug from the inside, the same parameter must surely apply to bikes but even more so, one wheel down on a car is bad enough but on a bike????
The Laverda cast wheels can and do take tubeless tyres, but this is not approved, in Germany, I imagine you could find yourself in big trouble with TUV and type approval. The "inside" edge of the tyre on "proper" tubeless rims has a shoulder to bear on, on non tubeless rims (not specifically Laverda) this is not present. It only works on Laverda cast wheels because the dimensions are very tight, witness how hard the tyres can be to mount and dismount, from memory thin flange wheels are worse than thick in this respect, or did I imagine that?
